I want to give up

Days like today make me just want to give up on everything I have going on in life, regardless of if it’s in a positive state or not. I long to just jump on a motorcycle and ride, leaving behind all the drama, all the hobbies, all the obligations and responsibilities.

Never enough time

Starting my day with sobbing. My heart breaks open every time one of my little furry babies starts down the path to the end of their little tiny lives.

Mantra for modern times

Or how I survived the urge to correct all the stuff that I thought was wrong about another annual review: Om gam ganapataye namaha.

It’s really not a bar anymore

Dear tourists and other visitors to the ‘banks: I understand you may have read about or in the past visited what was formerly known as “Tommy’s Elbow Room”, but as is obviously stated with large amounts of signage this space is now a dance studio and not a bar for drunks to just wander into and saunter down memory lane.

In case the signage is not enough, please refer to the sign that clears states “Sorry, we are closed.”

And if that is not enough to deter you from trying to come in, perhaps the locked door should indicate that you are not welcome to just walk on in!

Reptile Education: Family Day at Chena Lakes

I took Athena, my 8+ foot female boa to the Family Day event at Chena Lakes yesterday. She loves getting to be outside and is so amazingly cooperative and docile even with what seems to a BAZILLION kids surrounding her and petting her. Such a great educational animal.

Whew! What a day.

It’s amazing how much I can get done when I get up at 9am on a Sunday. My need “to do” list before the next Yoga Teacher Training and the Midnight Sun Festival is still so very long and strangely they are happening the same weekend, but I feel like I’ve achieved a lot and I’m good with that!

Snake in the grass!

Today I let Callisto, the 6.5+ male boa play in the yard. I grabbed a bit of video since he seemed to be playing with the blades of grass.

Gardening 101

This makes my fourth year gardening and this year we put in a third bed. Since my daughter and her cat came back to live with us this past winter and that cat get into everything, I decided to not try seeds and just went with starters.

We bought nearly $60 worth of plants at the market yesterday and I put most in the their permanent locations today. This year I’m also trying to use landscapers cloth on the beds to eliminate weeds. We shall see what we get!

Windy Day with plants and REI

Went to both the farmers market and the new REI store today. Got lots of starter plants at the first place and got an awesome new lifevest for the kayak, PLUS a wicked awesome bike helmet. Now I just need to put all those things to use or in their place…..
